Moving the Blog!

I know. What am I thinking? Well, I've been trying to find the best place for this blog where we all can access it and we have a little more privacy. I've chosen to go with Tumblr.com. It's brilliant because all you, the readers, need is a password I supply to access the blog. No logging in, no setting up an account. Should be easy peasy. Right? The new address is:

http://hipermestra.tumblr.com/

But you'll have to email me or leave a comment on this post to get the password. I don't really like being all controlly about these things, but this is the best fit I've found.

And to entice you to come check it out, I've just posted a video of Sarah burping Dad. Really, now you have to see it. ;)

ps. This blog will be available for a while, but I will eventually lock it down and you'll need a password to search through it too.

Those Kids...

Or "That family." That's us. At the park. Like when you've just finished explaining to your child why you don't do "[insert dangerous stunt]" and then my kid does that exact thing right in front of your kid and now you get to explain to your kid what a lousy parent I am. Go ahead. It doesn't hurt my feelings.

Here's Ellen. On the tiny tot slide. No, not the big slides, not the twirly slide, the tiny tot one. Going head first into the grass. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. But. That's. Me. Ahem. So I was amused when, after having watched Ellen do it, another child trundled over and took a turn and their caregiver would NOT let her go down the slide head first. What's next, you can't go down the stairs head first either?

Ellen has been getting more and more adventurous too which is lots of fun when it's not terrifying. We walk by this tree all the time, but ever since she saw the middle schoolers climbing it...

And then there's Sarah. She's not easy to capture on film and I can't really explain why. She may have teeth coming in. I do wish I had a little video camera taped to my forehead all the time. Then I could share with you the half an hour she spent laughing. Just laughing. Or the shrieks of delight every time we dance around to music. Every time. I did manage this little video though. She has lots of hair coming in, looks like it might be like Ellen's hair too, we'll see. Soon she'll start solid foods, that should be good for some photos.

what did I forget?

The rest of the photos from Ellen's Birthday! Sheesh. Well I did wait to get the approval of the other kids parents before I posted their pictures too. So that took, you know, weeks....;)
So the day of, Ellen woke up to presents all over the house, cupcakes at pre-school, party in the park with pals, then dinner with good friends and cake just before bed (all sprinkled with copious quantities of trains). It was so much fun to plan her birthday, I cannot wait until next year. Oh yeah!

"I like to roll in the dirt!"

And then came my own birthday a couple of weeks ago and Dad and the girls gave me a similar treatment, it was awesome! One present my Sweetie gave me was a light scoop for the camera. I absolutely refuse to take photos indoors if there's no daylight. RE Fuse. I hate how crummy they look and all the red eye. Yuck. But now, that's solved and I got this awesome shot of Sarah. Now, just what is she thinking? :)

Summer Camp!

Well, yeah, Ellen's a little young to be shipped off to Summer camp, but the pre-school here as a little program for little ones, three days a week in the mornings. We thought Ellen would have fun and get used to being on her own a little. So today I gave her a big hug and a kiss and let her go. I know she can do it.

She also got her first haircut yesterday! She's a very brave kid.
